A royal specialist has speculated that Meghan Markle’s “queen bee” conduct put her at odds with the palace employees and the royal family.
During an appearance on True Royalty TV’s “The Royal Beat,” author and Vanity Fair royal editor Katie Nicholl stated that the Duchess of Sussex thought she would become the “queen bee” of the royal family after marrying Prince Harry.
According to Nicholl, whose new book about the British royal family is titled “The New Royals,” Markle’s “personality clashes” with members of her staff occurred while she was a working member of the royal family.
According to Nicholl, who did not name any of Prince Harry and Markle’s former staff members, the duchess had a hard-working style and wanted everything to be done as fast as possible, regardless of what hour she sent the order.
“I don’t believe it was truly a significant issue that [Meghan] sent early morning emails,” Nicholl was reported as saying in The Mirror. “The King will send late-night emails as well.” But from what I’ve heard from those who have worked for the Sussexes in the past, Meghan in particular [would] want everything done immediately.
The royal expert claimed that the former “Suits” actress’s alleged behavior led to confrontations with the servants and royal family because of the way things function in the palace.
Nicholl Added
“She expected an immediacy that went with those early emails, such that she’d create an idea, want it accomplished by the next day, and didn’t fully comprehend that the Palace worked at a different pace.” To paraphrase, “I believe there were cultural issues, I think there were personality clashes, but I think ultimately, Meghan did want to be queen bee.”
The assertions made could not be confirmed by International Business Times. Representatives for Markle have refuted claims that she bullies employees.
Markle‘s interactions with the palace personnel were also discussed in the new book “Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown,” written by a royal journalist for the Times of London, Valentine Low.
The seasoned royal correspondent claimed to have heard from an anonymous employee that Markle “spoke extremely brutally at a meeting to a young female member of the team in front of her colleagues.”
A staff member allegedly informed Markle it would be difficult to implement a new plan after she “ripped to shreds” one that the assistant had written up, as detailed by Low.
Duchess Allegedly Told the Assistant
“If there was literally anyone else I could ask to do this, I would be asking them instead of you,” as reported by Low. The staff member broke down in tears, and Prince William consoled her and told her she was doing a fantastic job, at least that’s what the book says happened.
After the Duchess of Sussex felt let down by the staffer, another anonymous source claimed to Low that Markle called them nonstop for days.
In the same book, Low quotes an anonymous palace source as saying that Markle “felt she was going to be the BeyoncĂ© of the U.K.” after marrying into the royal family.
Another source elaborated, saying, “What she found, though, was that there were so many laws that were so ludicrous that she couldn’t even do the things that she could do as a private individual, which is tough.”
