The saying goes that a man’s best friend is a dog, but Bernadette Peters got a little help this weekend from her own friends when celebrities showed up to support her 24th annual Broadway Barks.
Music Man Actor Sutton Foster Co-Hosted the Dog Adoption Event.
Sutton Foster, who starred in the movie Music Man, co-hosted the dog adoption event and was photographed at the meeting in New York City with actors like Hugh Jackson.
Clearly smitten with the little fur balls, the couple were happy to meet and pet several of the canines that were available for adoption.
Jackman, who is presently playing alongside Foster in The Music Man, was grinning broadly while holding a few lucky dogs in his arms. The 53-year-old X-Men actor keeps two pets at home.
Billy Crystal, the star and co-writer of Mr. Saturday Night, took a tongue-out picture while cradling a cute puppy.

Social media videos purport to show animal rights activists disrupting the event. In one video clip shared on Twitter, Peters can be seen answering: “I apologize! You are denying the opportunity for adoption to every animal present.”
