A singer and actor. As an actor and singer, Pedro Infante Cruz was a major figure in Mexico. He is revered all over Mexico and Latin America for his work as one of the greatest actors of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema.
Canal 22 commemorates the life and career of actor and singer Pedro Infante by sharing personal accounts from those who knew him best in a documentary released on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of his death.
Along with Jorge Negrete and Javier Sols, he was arguably the most well-known Mexican film actor and singer of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. Tres Gallos Mexicanos was the collective name for the three.
Many people thought that Lupita Infante, Pedro Infante’s daughter, knew Antonio Pedro over the years because of their physical similarities; however, she grew tired of the rumors and called for DNA testing to establish the alleged familial ties, but no one took her up on it.
The Day 26 Years After His Death when Pedro Infante Mysteriously’ Reappeared’
On April 15, 1957, the plane in which the legendary Mexican film star and aviation enthusiast was traveling crashed in the city of Merida, Yucatan, or so the official story goes. However, many people have claimed that this was all a fabrication and that the singer lived for many more years.
In the mid-1950s, Pedro Infante allegedly became associated with the mistress of a powerful politician (some say it was the former president Miguel Alemán), who then had Infante killed.
This hypothesis was bolstered 26 years later with the sudden appearance of a man who claimed to be Antonio Pedro Hurtado Borjón and who not only looked like the late singer but also had a singing voice that was strikingly similar to that of the late star.
To cast even more doubt on his story, this man shared a scar on his chin with Pedro Infante, who was injured while filming “A toda máquina” in 1951. Antonio Pedro soon began to assert that he was the authentic Pedro Infante, going so far as to demand royalties and insist that he was originally from “Un pueblo norteo,” all of which lent credence to the theory that he was a forger.
In 2013, the man who claimed to be Pedro Infante passed away. His body was interred in the Delicias Municipal Cemetery in Chihuahua, where hundreds of people visit annually to pay their respects.

Actor Nieto De Pedro Infante’s Death Was Fabricated, According to Nieto De Pedro Infante.
Almost 65 years after his grandfather’s passing, one of the Idol of Guamchil’s grandchildren claimed that Pedro Infante had survived the plane disaster in 1957 and was instead imprisoned for his alleged involvement in the drug trade.
César Augusto Infante, Cruz Infante’s son, revealed in an interview that the rumored grandson, Pedro Infante, had joined a criminal organization because he felt threatened and was involved in drug trafficking. Over the course of the next few years, he’d be transferred between many jails before finally being liberated by presidential decree.
They entangled him with the criminal underworld by having him deal drugs. When he tried to escape the situation after learning all this, the people around him threatened him with death or imprisonment, which triggered the plot and conspiracy of 1957.
They would have kidnapped the actor after he was reported missing and tortured him for years in Mexican prisons before releasing him in 1983 on the condition that he never admits to being Pedro Infante. “He was beaten to death,” he said. “He was locked up in Lecumberri, in the Maras Islands, in La Castaeda in Michoacán, and in a prison in Sonora.”
The artist further claimed that his grandfather, Antonio Pedro, was actually Pedro Infante and that he passed away on June 22, 2013, at the age of 95 in Delicias, Chihuahua. They even tried to kill him twice the first time he announced it publicly, he said.
