The ATX Television Festival is getting ready for another thrilling year with programming that will feature both fresh and nostalgic reunions. The festival’s 12th season will run from June 1 to 4 in Austin, Texas this year.
Justified: City Primeval will have its opening night international premiere, the festival revealed Thursday. The eight-part limited series, which is based on the book City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit, begins 15 years after U.S. Timothy Olyphant’s Marshal Raylan Givens left the Kentucky hollers in the FX series Justified.
An accidental encounter on a Florida highway sends Givens to Detroit, where he meets violent sociopath Clement Mansell, also known as The Oklahoma Wildman (Boyd Holbrook), and his fearsome defense lawyer. This book expands the Elmore Leonard world and introduces a brand-new cast of characters (Aunjanue Ellis).
A discussion with the cast and crew will take place after the screening of Justified: City Primeval, which airs this summer on FX and streams the next day on Hulu.
A Dawson’s Creek 25th Anniversary Screening and Discussion, presented by Sony Pictures Television Studios, will also be a part of Season 12 of the festival.
