Juan Alberto “Juancho” Hernangómez Geuer (born September 28, 1995) is a Spanish professional basketball player and actor who currently plays for the Utah Jazz of the NBA. He formerly played for Estudiantes in the Liga ACB and has also represented Spain at the senior level.
Early Year
In 2007, Juancho Hernangómez joined CB Las Rozas’ youth teams and began playing competitive basketball. He joined a Real Madrid youth team and played for them before transferring to Club Baloncesto Majadahonda for the next few years.

Estudiantes in 2013 with Hernangómez earned his first professional deal with CB Estudiantes in 2012 and played for their second team until 2014 when he was promoted to the first team. Hernangómez played 34 games in 2015–16, averaging 9.7 points and 5.7 rebounds. Following that, he was voted the ACB’s Best Young Player of the Year.
The Nuggets of Denver (2016–2020) are a professional basketball team based in Denver, Colorado. On April 26, 2016, Hernangómez was named to the NBA draft’s list of international early entry hopefuls.
With the 15th overall pick, he was chosen by the Denver Nuggets. His rookie scale contract with the Nuggets was signed on August 9, 2016. According to the NBA Development League’s flexible assignment rule, he was allocated to the Sioux Falls Skyforce on January 4, 2017.
After playing in one game for the Skyforce, he was called up by the Nuggets three days later. In a 132–110 victory over the Golden State Warriors on February 13, 2017, he set a season-high with 27 points and a season-high 10 rebounds. Against the Warriors, he hit six three-pointers, tying an NBA record with 24 three-pointers. Hernangomez was diagnosed with mononucleosis early in the 2017–18 season, and he only appeared in 25 games during his sophomore season as a result.

Margarita Geuer Draeger, his mother, was a professional basketball player who represented Spain in the 1993 European Championship. His father played for Real Madrid and Estudiantes, while his younger sister is a member of the Estudiantes youth team.
On June 8, 2022, Hernangómez will star in the Netflix film Hustle, which was produced by LeBron James and co-stars Adam Sandler.
