Omaha, NE – Scattered light snow showers are expected across Omaha and nearby areas Monday evening through early Tuesday morning. While not all areas will see snow, forecasters predict accumulations of less than an inch where snow falls.

The National Weather Service in Omaha stated that most of the snowfall will occur between 6 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday. Drivers may encounter slick spots on roads during the Tuesday morning commute. Reduced visibility is also possible in some areas due to light flurries and wind.

The light snow showers may linger through Tuesday morning in southwest Iowa and parts of eastern Nebraska. However, no additional snowfall is expected beyond 6 a.m. Tuesday. Winds are anticipated to drop temperatures to below-zero wind chills Monday night and Tuesday morning, increasing potential travel challenges.

The weather service advises commuters to allow extra time for travel and exercise caution on roads, particularly bridges and overpasses, which may freeze more quickly. Flurries are unlikely to cause widespread impacts but could create patchy slick spots in affected areas.

Residents are urged to stay updated on changing conditions by monitoring local weather reports. While the storm system is weak, even minimal snowfall combined with cold winds could create inconveniences for morning travelers.
