Pueblo, CO — Residents across Colorado are waking up to freezing fog and icy conditions Sunday, with snow showers expected to impact higher terrain. Below-normal temperatures are forecast throughout the day, while a slow warming trend begins early this week.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, patchy fog will lift by mid-morning, leaving sunny skies and a high near 34 degrees. Tonight, there is a 20% chance of light snow showers, particularly in mountain regions, as temperatures plummet to 11 degrees. Drivers on U.S. 50 and surrounding mountain passes should be prepared for reduced visibility and slick road conditions.
Monday’s outlook shows mostly sunny skies and a high of 35 degrees, with clear and calm weather continuing through midweek. By Wednesday, temperatures are expected to rise to 44 degrees, with highs near 48 degrees by Thursday. However, colder air and snow chances are likely to return next weekend, creating a renewed risk of hazardous travel conditions.
