Hanford, CA – A Freeze Watch is in effect for Hanford and surrounding areas, with sub-freezing temperatures as low as 27°F expected starting tonight. Residents are urged to protect outdoor plumbing, crops, and sensitive vegetation as the freeze continues through Wednesday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Hanford, widespread frost will develop after midnight tonight and persist into the early mornings each day. Sunday will bring patchy dense fog early, clearing into sunny skies with a high near 57°F. Overnight lows will dip to 33°F, with frost likely.
Monday and Tuesday will follow a similar pattern with sunny afternoons and nighttime temperatures plunging near freezing. Daytime highs will remain consistent, around 57°F. Frost and freeze conditions could pose a threat to unprotected outdoor infrastructure and agriculture across Kings and Fresno counties, particularly along the I-5 corridor.
Residents should take immediate steps to protect plants, pets, and exposed pipes. Frost-sensitive crops in the region may face significant damage if precautions are not taken. Drive cautiously during early mornings, as dense fog could reduce visibility to less than a mile in some areas.
As the week progresses, temperatures are expected to rise slightly by Wednesday, with highs reaching 58°F. However, freezing conditions will persist overnight. Stay tuned for updates and weather advisories from local authorities.
