Sacramento, CA – Residents in Sacramento and the surrounding areas are urged to prepare for strong winds persisting through Sunday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for western portions of the Sacramento Valley, including the Carquinez Strait and Delta, warning of gusts up to 45 mph.
According to the advisory, unsecured objects, tree limbs, and holiday decorations may be blown down, potentially causing scattered power outages. Winds are expected to peak in strength Saturday morning and gradually weaken by late Sunday morning. The advisory recommends avoiding unnecessary travel, especially for high-profile vehicles, and securing outdoor items.
Following the wind advisory, Sacramento can expect sunny skies and cooler temperatures. Sunday’s high will be near 59°F, with winds calming to 7 mph by evening. Nighttime lows will drop to 37°F, leading to potential frost early Monday.
The extended forecast predicts sunny days through midweek, with highs in the upper 50s and lows dipping into the mid-30s. Areas of frost may develop overnight, especially in rural and low-lying areas.
Residents are advised to stay updated with local forecasts and take precautions to protect property and plants from frost damage. For more information and weather updates, visit the National Weather Service website.
