300 Firefighters From Oregon Arrive To Help With La Area Fires

Fifteen strike teams from Oregon have arrived in Los Angeles on Thursday to provide assistance in combating the wildfires in southern California.

Eleven teams eagerly started their work on Friday morning.

A total of 300 firefighters and 75 fire engines have been dispatched by the teams to safeguard homes and buildings. They will remain in the area for a maximum of 14 days, actively patrolling areas prone to fires and collaborating closely with the local California firefighters.

The crews conducted a standard safety check before commencing their work, ensuring the firefighters’ safe deployment.

“I am honored to work alongside the Oregon fire service who raised their hands to say they will go without question,” Oregon State Fire Marshal Mariana Ruiz-Temple said. “This shows their commitment to jump into action no matter what, embodying the Oregon spirit.”

This is one of the largest out-of-state responses that the Oregon fire service has ever supported.
