Wichita, KS – A mix of light rain and snow is expected across central Kansas tonight, potentially impacting travel along the I-35 corridor. The National Weather Service predicts precipitation between 4 p.m. and midnight, though snow accumulation is expected to be minimal.
According to the National Weather Service, areas north of a line from Kingman to Wichita to El Dorado are most likely to see precipitation. Wind chills near zero were recorded Saturday morning, and temperatures are expected to remain in the low 30s through Sunday. Drivers should prepare for slick spots on untreated roads as temperatures dip near freezing overnight.
Sunday’s forecast offers relief, with skies clearing and a high near 35 degrees. Winds will shift to the northwest at 7–15 mph, with gusts up to 22 mph. Sunday night will bring mostly clear skies and a low of 11 degrees.
Looking ahead, the start of the workweek in Wichita will see calm conditions with mostly sunny skies Monday and highs near 29 degrees. Tuesday and Wednesday remain clear, with highs rebounding to the mid-30s by midweek.
