Rensselaer, NY – Light snow is expected to move into the Rensselaer area overnight, creating potential travel disruptions along I-90 and local roads. The National Weather Service forecasts snow beginning around 5 a.m. Saturday, with accumulations ranging from a light coating to 2 inches in the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Albany, the snow will taper off by late Saturday morning, with temperatures peaking near 29 degrees. Residents are advised to allow extra time for their Saturday morning commutes, as untreated roads may become slippery. Use caution when driving, particularly on elevated surfaces and bridges.
Saturday night will see clearing skies with temperatures dropping to 19 degrees, making for a cold and crisp start to Sunday. Sunday itself is expected to bring sunshine, with highs near 34 degrees and calm winds—a reprieve from the snowy start to the weekend.
Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday will feature partly sunny skies, with daytime highs ranging from 34 to 36 degrees. Overnight lows early next week will dip into the low 20s. By midweek, colder air will return, with daytime highs in the low 20s and overnight lows plunging into the teens.
Prepare for icy roads tonight and keep an eye on updated forecasts this weekend. Bundle up for Sunday’s sunny but brisk conditions.
