Four individuals have been apprehended as part of a targeted operation aimed at tackling incidents of store thefts in Enfield’s bustling shopping district.
The suspects have been identified by the police as Miguel Manon, aged 29, Melvin Ramirez, aged 37, Josefina Beltre, aged 43, and Deyanira Sanchez, aged 34.
The suspects hailed from New York City.
The police, along with assistance from the Connecticut State Police retail task force, carried out the operation on Wednesday.
According to their statement, they collaborated with loss prevention departments from various stores to detect and apprehend shoplifters in the act.
The authorities have charged all four suspects with multiple offenses, including third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, possession of a shoplifting device, and organized retail theft.
The court set their bonds at $10,000 each.
