The medical license of a Houston doctor has been temporarily suspended by the Texas Medical Board. The board has determined that the doctor’s continuation in the practice of medicine poses a “continuing threat to public welfare.”
Dr. Nathan Starke, a urologist, was reportedly involved in multiple surgeries in August and September of 2024 while allegedly appearing impaired, as per the Texas Medical Board.
Houston Methodist suspended him on September 6, and according to the Board, Starke tested positive for cocaine around October 15.
According to the Board, Dr. Starke signed an Interim Monitoring Agreement with TMB but did not initiate testing.
Dr. Starke will be given a 10-day notice for a temporary suspension hearing, which will be held as soon as possible. However, the hearing can be waived by Dr. Starke.
The Board will keep the temporary suspension in place until they take action.
Six months ago, Starke made an appearance on the KPRC 2+ livestream to discuss men’s health before his license was suspended.
