The Singh family from Dallas, Oregon is now faced with the daunting task of rebuilding their devastated stores following an incident where a Texas man crashed his truck into their market center.
Dallas police officers immediately rushed to the Center Market on Fairview Avenue in response to reports of a black Ford F-150 causing damage.
The driver, who was 34 years old, was actively driving back and forth, intentionally causing significant damage. There were about nine people near the front of the scene, attempting to pay for their items. It is truly fortunate that no one was injured during this incident.
The truck forcefully smashed through the front doors, moving at a speed of approximately 20 mph. In an attempt to prevent the man from escaping, a police car was strategically parked at the entrance. To the surprise of onlookers, the driver proceeded to reverse the truck into the squad car multiple times. Additionally, the suspect is facing accusations of stealing merchandise, as reported by States Man Journal.
According to a store owner, the man was shouting racial slurs. The police officers reported that he seemed incoherent and was rambling about aliens and Vietnam. During the investigation, a marijuana pipe was discovered in the truck, which gave the officers probable cause.
The man faced multiple charges, including first-degree robbery, first-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, and third-degree theft.
The motive behind the incident remains uncertain, as investigators are still determining whether it was a biased crime or racially motivated. The identity of the suspect has not yet been disclosed, as an ongoing investigation is underway.
