Rifle Theft in Moline: Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Car Broken Into
Authorities Seek Public’s Help to Recover Stolen Rock River Arms LAR-15 Rifle
According to WQAD8, in Moline Illinois a rifle was stolen from a patrol car of the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office. It happened on February 17 around 7 a.m. when Moline police responded to a burglary. They found that a marked patrol car belonging to an off-duty deputy had been broken into while parked in the deputy’s drive way.
The thief or thieves broke the rear cargo hatch and took a rifle case with a Rock River Arms LAR-15 rifle and a loaded magazine. This rifle could be dangerous if used for criminal activities. The Moline police and the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office are working together to find the rifle and catch the thieves.
