During an earnings call, the CEO of McDonald’s informed investors that the chain of restaurants will prioritize costs this year. This decision was made in response to criticism the firm received for higher prices that customers had noticed.
CEO Chris Kempczinski stated on the earnings call on Monday, “I believe what you’re about to see as you move into 2024 will probably be greater focus to what I might refer to as affordability.”
The business has come under fire for increasing menu prices, which has scared off some patrons. In July, The New York Post revealed that a Connecticut rest stop McDonald’s charged $18 for a Big Mac combination meal.
