A Somerville man arrested in a tragic incident unfolded in Somerville as authorities have apprehended David C. Shroitman, a 27-year-old resident, in connection with the stabbing death of Mary Rose Fealey, also 27, of Somerville. The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, alongside the Somerville Police Department, disclosed that the fatal event occurred on January 30.

Somerville Police responded quickly to a 911 call reporting an injured woman outside a North Bridge Street home complex. Ms. Fealey was found dead with several stab wounds, sparking a multi-agency inquiry.
Amidst the grim discovery, detectives from the Somerville Police Department, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Crime Scene Investigations Unit, and the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office joined forces to unravel the circumstances surrounding the heinous crime.
Efforts culminated in the arrest of David C. Shroitman, a 27-year-old Somerville resident, who authorities believe is linked to the fatal stabbing of Mary Rose Fealey.

Somerville Man Arrested: Legal Proceedings Underway
Following comprehensive investigations, the Medical Examiner ruled the cause of Ms. Fealey’s demise as multiple stab wounds, confirming the incident as a homicide. As the legal process unfolds, David Shroitman faces severe charges, including Murder, Possession of a Weapon, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Hindering Apprehension.
Currently detained at the Somerset County Jail, Shroitman awaits a detention hearing, marking the beginning of legal proceedings that aim to shed light on the events surrounding the tragic loss of Mary Rose Fealey.
