NATO and Chinese State Media Issue Dangerous Threat of “World War”

A Chinese publication suggested on Sunday that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) would turn the continuing battle between Russia and Ukraine into a “world war.”

Following the military alliance’s announcement this past month of its largest military drill in over thirty-five years, there appears to have been an increase in the high level of tension between Russia and NATO in current weeks. The operation, known as “Steadfast Defender 2024,” began in late January and will go until May. In the end, some 90,000 military troops from Sweden and 31 NATO countries will take part in it.

According to NATO officials, the exercise would evaluate the partners’ capacity to rapidly deploy forces and to evaluate new defense strategies.
