Shoplifting and Warrant & Capture DUI/Speeding

Authorities responded to a shoplifting at the 500 block of Livingston Road at 8:38 p.m. on January 11. The suspect left with $765 in stock, claiming a malfunction in her in-store application.

After a dispatch check, an unusual crime warrant was found for failing to obey a false crime charge. He was arrested without incident and taken to Laramie Province Detention Office.

Official McCloskey stopped a vehicle speeding 68 mph in a 55 mph zone on US 30 at Polk Road at 11:44 p.m. on January 10. Rough eyes and slurred speech indicated alcohol intoxication in the driver. Fowler was arrested for speeding and DUI after failing Normalized Field Moderation Tests and a breath test with a 0.136 BAC. Fowler was brought to Laramie Area Detention Center.

Eluding and DUI, Highway 80 near Milepost 362

Sergeant Powell responded to a Cheyenne police pursuit of a red traveler car on Highway 80 westward from exit 362 at 12:01 a.m. on January 11. After stopping for a lost tag light and a green light, the car tried to avoid police at 50-60 mph. The driver was captured after a strategic vehicle interference near milepost 353.

The driver displayed signs of alcohol impedance, rejected assent advisement, and had blood drawn at Cheyenne Provincial Clinical Center after a court order. Laramie Province Confinement Center received the driver.

These episodes feature Cheyenne police investigating shoplifting, warrant captures, and DUIs.
