On Wednesday evening, January 3, investigators from the Anne Arundel County Police Department answered a phone call at the hospital. The caller reported child abuse, necessitating additional research.
According to authorities, a parent alleged that her toddler had been abused by his babysitter, 35-year-old Glenda Sarmiento-Aguilar. Detectives have started a comprehensive inquiry into the incident in response to this severe claim.
After being detained at the Jennifer Road Detention Center, Sarmiento-Aguilar was apprehended at her Annapolis home. She is being jailed without bond after investigators filed an arrest warrant for her.
