The freedom to keep and bear arms guaranteed by the 2nd amendment is established in American society, and the Lone Star State takes this right seriously. Texas became one of the states that permitted open carry of guns in 2016, permitting license holders to openly exhibit their weapons in public.

In Texas, is it enough for law enforcement to just stop anyone from openly having a handgun? Officially referred to as House Bill 910, the Texas Open Carry Law became operative in January 2016.
