A Chicopee man has been handed a 42-year prison sentence for the heinous crimes of kidnapping and murder committed in 2020. The sentencing marks a significant legal conclusion to a case that sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the severity of the charges against the individual involved.
A 42-Year Sentence for Kidnapping and Murder Unfolds in Springfield
In Springfield, Massachusetts, a Chicopee man has been given a 42-year jail sentence for the 2020 seizing and killing of 28-year-old Francisco Roman Jr.
On December 24, 2020, Brandon Batiste, 36, and Calvin Roberson stole Roman at gunpoint from his Chicopee domestic, issuing dangers and cuffing him sometime recently, taking cash, drugs, and other assets.
The criminals at that point constrained Roman into the back of his possessive car, driving him to Hartford, Connecticut. Amid the travel, Batiste lethally shot Roman.

Taking after the kill, Batiste and Roberson surrendered the car in Hartford’s Shulta’s Put, where it was afterward found immersed in blazes by police two days later.
Brandon Batiste, who has been in guardianship since his capture on February 11, 2021, argued blameworthy for capturing and murdering Roman on June 30, 2023. Calvin Roberson had already claimed blameworthy to the exact charges on April 27, 2023.
