Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee are pressuring the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide records and information about the administration’s efforts to remove the razor wire that the state of Texas had installed to permit illegal aliens to enter the interior more deeply.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has received a letter from Chairman Jim Jordan, Chairman of the Immigration Subcommittee Tom McClintock, and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Responsiveness and Accountability to Oversight Ben Cline. The letters are a follow-up to 2 requests for additional information regarding the circumstances in Eagle Pass, Texas in September.

When a large influx of illegal immigrants, primarily from Venezuela, entered Eagle Pass on September 20, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) was unable to handle the volume of people entering the area, forcing the closure of 2 bridges.
