In a recent incident, Lydia Pinto, 38, a former educator at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, faced charges of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and two counts of second-degree sexual assault, leading to her arrest on November 8 without any resistance.

The legal action unfolded after the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation on October 16, prompted by an anonymous email received by the Bridgewater Police Department outlining Lydia Pinto’s alleged involvement with the student. The victim, now an adult, was subsequently identified and interviewed by detectives from the office’s sex crimes and child abuse unit on October 26, according to a press release by Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald on Friday.
“The victim reported engaging in a relationship with former teacher, Lydia Pinto,” the release stated, highlighting that the inappropriate relationship had turned sexual when the victim was between the ages of 14 to 15, persisting until the individual’s senior year in high school. Notably, all the illicit activities occurred in Raritan Borough.

Despite attempts to obtain comments from Bridgewater-Raritan School District administrators and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, Fox News Digital encountered difficulties in reaching them at the time of reporting.
Following her arrest, Lydia Pinto was confined to Somerset County Jail, only to be released seven days later on November 15, awaiting her upcoming court appearance.
