In a recent court decision, 22-year-old Manuel Sierra has been handed a sentence following his admission of guilt in a drive-by shooting case, as revealed by Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell.
Mitchell noted that 32 individuals have been granted lifetime injunctions preventing any contact with Manuel Sierra for the entirety of his life
The prosecution outlined Manuel Sierra’s actions, citing that over a span of six months in 2021 and 2022, he carried out random shootings at 11 different residences and vehicles. Significantly, nearly all of these incidents occurred in the presence of relatives of Manuel Sierra’s former girlfriend.
Despite the severity of the attacks, which included gunfire directed at homes and cars, fortunately, no injuries were reported
Instances of bullets striking front doors, living room areas, and bedroom windows were confirmed by officials. Additionally, Manuel Sierra was implicated in an arson incident involving a car. Investigative efforts were supported by video surveillance and scrutiny of Sierra’s phone records, conclusively linking him to all the offenses. The matching of bullet casings found at the scenes to handguns discovered in Manuel Sierra’s residence and the vehicles used in the shootings served as key evidence. Notably, Sierra’s phone records revealed extensive research on family members, accompanied by the sending of anonymous threats via text messages. The sentencing underscores the gravity of Sierra’s actions, marking a decisive legal response to his criminal conduct.
