In Las Vegas, a tragic incident led to the arrest of eight Las Vegas high school students, aged 13 to 17, in connection with the murder of a 17-year-old classmate

According to Las Vegas police homicide Lt. Jason Johansson, the incident, which occurred on November 1, stemmed from a dispute over wireless headphones and a vape pen. Despite the arrest of the eight Las Vegas high school students, two more are being sought for their involvement in the fatal altercation. The victim, identified as Jonathan Lewis Jr., sustained severe injuries, including head trauma, during the altercation and remained hospitalized until his unfortunate passing about a week later.

The distressing video of the attack, widely circulated on social media, played a crucial role in identifying the suspects. Las Vegas Undersheriff Andrew Walsh described the footage as “extremely disturbing” and urged anyone who recognized participants in the video to come forward.

Due to their status as minors, the authorities have refrained from disclosing the identities of the suspects. Johansson revealed ongoing discussions with the local district attorney’s office regarding the potential charging of the Las Vegas high school students as adults.

The altercation, Johansson explained, had been preplanned following the theft of the headphones and vape pen from the victim’s friend

The victim, who initially wasn’t intended to be part of the altercation, accompanied his friend to an alley where the fight was scheduled. In the alley, a group of 10 Las Vegas high school students attacked the victim, brutally beating him before a passerby discovered him unconscious and injured, eventually leading to the school staff calling emergency services.
