Seattle, currently leading the NFC West with a 5-2 record, demonstrated their commitment to strengthening the roster by acquiring Leonard Williams for a second-round pick in 2024 and a fifth-round pick in 2025. Despite the relatively high cost, the Seahawks benefitted from New York covering the majority of Leonard Williams’ salary, leaving Seattle with only a prorated veteran minimum to pay.

Now joining a formidable defensive line in Seattle, Leonard Williams is set to bolster the team’s already impressive run-stopping abilities. Both Leonard Williams and Seahawks coach Pete Carroll expressed confidence in a smooth transition, with Williams expected to see action in the upcoming game against Baltimore. Carroll praised Leonard Williams’ technical prowess and emphasized the ease of getting him acclimated to the defensive scheme.
