The current popularity of electric vehicles among purchasers does not seem to be aligned with their potential as the environmentally healthy cars of the future.
According to Insider, major manufacturers are beginning to drastically reduce their EV investments and are becoming more open about the technology’s poor perspective.
General Motors was one of the largest automakers in the country to raise the alarm. The firm announced this week during an earnings call that it is giving up on its goal to produce 100,000 electric vehicles by the end of this year and 400,000 by the beginning of 2024. It claims it is unsure of when it will reach its existing goals and has not set any new ones.
