According to the Associated Press, nearly 1,400 people had been murdered in Israel as of Sunday. Meanwhile, the AP reported that over 8,000 Palestinians had perished in Gaza.

With an approximately 2.3 million people living in the region, Israel has mobilized up 360,000 army reservists in anticipation of a possible ground invasion.
