Nathan Eovaldi, who inked a deal with the Rangers last year, is poised to make history with his inaugural World Series start

This right-hander has been in top form this postseason, boasting an impressive 4-0 record with a stellar 2.42 ERA across four starts, which notably include critical wins in the AL Wild Card and Division Series, along with a must-win Game 6 in the AL Championship Series against Houston.

“Nate’s had plenty of rest, he’s ready to go,” remarked Texas manager Bruce Bochy, underlining the confidence in Nathan Eovaldi’s readiness for this pivotal match. On the other side, the Diamondbacks will counter with All-Star right-hander Zac Gallen, who enters the fray with a 2-2 record and a 5.24 ERA in his postseason debut.

As for Game 2, Bochy remained tight-lipped about the starter, leaving fans and analysts speculating between Eovaldi and left-hander Jordan Montgomery

Montgomery, with a perfect 3-0 record and an impressive 2.16 ERA, secured a crucial Game 7 victory in Houston, with a stellar 2 and 1/3 innings in relief on Monday night.

With a postseason track record boasting an 8-3 record and a 2.87 ERA across 15 games, including 10 starts, the 33-year-old Nathan Eovaldi brings a wealth of experience to the Series. His lone World Series encounter was in 2018 with the Boston Red Sox, where he made impactful relief appearances in the initial three games against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Notably, Nathan Eovaldi played a pivotal role in the marathon Game 3, pitching a remarkable six innings in an 18-inning battle that culminated in a game-ending homer by Max Muncy.
