Sergey Lavrov emphasized that proactive measures taken by a state could heighten the risk of conflict escalation

Sergey Lavrov pointed out that the United States has been one of the most actively involved countries since the October 7 attack by Hamas on Israel, followed by Israeli counterattacks on the Gaza Strip.

Nevertheless, Sergey Lavrov acknowledged the need for collaborative efforts involving Washington, the European Union, and regional nations to find a diplomatic resolution to the ongoing conflict. He emphasized the significance of harnessing the collective potential of these countries. Lavrov made these remarks during a meeting in Tehran, where he was in discussions with regional counterparts concerning the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
