‘Global Scale’ Attack Warning from Chinese Media to the US

A Chinese media issued An alarming warning to the United States, claiming that the country is “promoting the risk of conflict on a global scale.”

The yearly warning to Congress from the Pentagon on China’s military might, which was made public on Thursday, was challenged in an editorial from The Global Times, a nationalistic English-language tabloid produced by the propaganda arm of the governing Communist Party.

China’s advancing nuclear abilities, opposition to military-to-military interactions with the United States, growth in national power, boosting relations with Russia, and aggressive behavior in the Indo-Pacific region, particularly around and within the Taiwan Strait, were all covered in detail in the Pentagon report.

The Global Times, whose opinions do not always align with Chinese government policy, referred to the information in the Pentagon study as “malicious assumptions and smears,” claiming that the US was attempting to “fabricate an awful picture of China.”
