What might be special about people who continue to be 100 years old or older has been the subject of a recent study. To improve our understanding of lifespan and life expectancy, the study’s authors searched for variations in physiological function earlier than extreme old age.

This study is the first to analyze blood biomarkers taken sooner in life from those who went on to survive to be elderly individuals versus those who did not.

According to their conclusions, elderly people often had lower blood sugar, creatinine, and uric acid levels than the general population.
