The 64-year-old former patrol leader of Boro Park Shomrim, Jacob Daskal, was arrested after grooming and raping a 15-year-old girl in Brooklyn for several months, wherein the Boro Park Shomrim former leader sexually abused the victim ever since she moved into their Brooklyn home due to family troubles.
According to a report published in Fox 5, the Boro Park Shomrim former leader repeatedly raped the teenage victim, claiming that the sexual abuse was a “therapy” and the Boro Park Shomrim former leader even threatened her due to his high position in the Jewish community.
Even if the victim moved to another city, the former leader of the Boro Park Shomrim continued to rape her in hotels, which prompted the victim to tell her friend and a mentor about how the Boro Park Shomrim sexually abused her repeatedly.

During the trial, the Boro Park Shomrim former leader expressed his regrets and asked for forgiveness as he cried inside the courtroom just before he received his sentence, Daily News reported.
After pleading guilty to repeatedly raping the 15-year-old girl, the former leader of Boro Park Shomrim was sentenced to 17 years in prison as the victim received the justice she sought.
