Judge Faye Peterson cited two main factors for her decision on Wednesday afternoon. Judge Faye Peterson expressed concern that Edwards, a former social media figure and radio host, poses a unique threat to the community and is likely to flee, despite his counsel’s general denials in favor of bail.
Records indicate that immediately after the incident, Edwards departed the Jackson metro area, first heading to Lexington and subsequently leaving the state entirely. U.S. Marshals later apprehended him in New Orleans, days after the tragic event.

The crime occurred at Robinson’s residence in Clinton. She disclosed that Edwards had an unhealthy fixation on her, although she also confessed to a previous involvement with him. Robinson categorically denied any romantic ties with Davis.
Assistant District Attorney Gwen Agho of Hinds County emphasized in her closing statements that Edwards harbored jealousy towards Davis and Robinson, a motive she contends led him to commit the fatal act, discharging his weapon eight times. The jury’s deliberations spanned less than seven hours over two days before they informed Judge Faye Peterson of their inability to reach a unanimous verdict.
