In a recent incident of cruelty to animals, Harris County Precinct One Constable Alan Rosen has called for justice and protection for our voiceless companions

The perpetrator, captured on video, subjected a defenseless dog to unspeakable cruelty to animals. He began by kicking the innocent canine, then proceeded to grab the 50-pound dog by one of its hind legs, heartlessly hurling it across the walkway. Threats of further violence against the helpless animal were also uttered. Constable Rosen strongly condemned this heart-wrenching abuse, stating, “Why would anybody need to fling an animal, throw an animal, kick an animal? That’s cruelty to animals.”

Upon investigating the apartment, authorities discovered two more French Bulldogs, confined in deplorable conditions within small cages, covered in feces. All three animals have been removed from harm’s way and entrusted to the care of the Houston SPCA veterinary team and caregivers. Notably, the perpetrator in the video is not the dog’s owner but is known to be an acquaintance of the owner.

Cruelty to animals, a grave offense, carries the weight of a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison and a substantial fine of $10,000

Charges are currently pending as investigators work diligently on the cruelty to animals case. Julie Kunstler, VP of Communications for the Houston SPCA, emphasized the crucial role of the community in reporting cruelty to animals, urging individuals to report any suspicious situations for welfare checks. Constable Rosen echoed this sentiment, vowing to protect animals from mistreatment under his watch and sending a stern warning to potential abusers.
