According to a report published in CSO, the FBI tried to take down the servers of the Qakbot malware 2023 in August; however, the group behind the Qakbot malware 2023 seemed to have backup systems for their dangerous campaigns and continued sending out phishing emails to infect users.

Unlike how the Qakbot malware 2023 had phishing emails directly from their servers, the creators of the Qakbot malware 2023 were suspected of working on a new yet more dangerous campaign using a Knight malware variant, infamous for extorting money from users and companies through threats.

FBI Tracks Qakbot Malware 2023 in LNK Files in New Campaigns Following Initial Efforts to Stop Them

Following efforts to stop the Qakbot malware 2023, the FBI recently tracked the same threats, written in Italian, in LNK files as the team identified the serial numbers distributed to users to gain access to the systems.

With the continuous threats, the FBI is currently investigating the case and is expected to work on knowing the hackers behind the Qakbot malware 2023 and permanently eradicate its operations and the entire threats, PCMag reported.
