Illinois plans to relocate non-citizens from Chicago to its smaller towns

Will the state force the smaller towns to welcome these migrants? Chicago is filled with illegal immigrants requesting asylum, and the governor of Illinois believes one way to solve the issue is for the downstate minor towns to widen their gates to these non-citizens.

Center Square claims that migrants have overrun Chicago, the state’s largest town and that one way to address this issue is to encourage the state’s smaller towns to welcome these newcomers. According to the article…

“Gov. J.B. Pritzker is requesting that communities beyond Chicago assist in housing and other services to the ongoing influx of non-citizen newcomers, which currently numbers at least 15,000…The Chicago Tribune says that since Saturday, 27 buses transporting non-citizen arrivals have arrived just this past week. Regarding the city’s plan to spend close to $30 million on military-grade base camp shelters for the upcoming winter, Pritzker requested assistance from neighboring cities around the state.”
