New COVID Boosters Rejected in Florida Despite CDC Urging Individuals to Get New COVID Booster Vaccines Due to Increasing Cases

The new COVID boosters were rejected in Florida despite the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) urging individuals aged six months to get new COVID boosters following the increasing cases of the virus, but Florida officials seemed to be doubting new COVID boosters.

According to a report published in BBC News, Florida officials, including Governor Ron DeSantis, announced that residents below 65 should avoid getting new COVID boosters only a day after the CDC advised individuals to get them due to the increasing number of COVID cases.

Before the announcement of the new COVID boosters, Governor DeSantis initially supported vaccines but later criticized the new COVID boosters and their manufacturers and even contradicted national CDC guidelines, claiming they were only experimenting with people.

Health Experts Continue Urging Individuals to Take New COVID Boosters to Reduce Increasing COVID Cases

Following the increasing COVID cases nationwide, health experts urged individuals to take new COVID boosters to lessen the risk of having the virus and strengthen their immune systems.

Despite Florida officials questioning the effectiveness of the new COVID boosters, health experts claimed that the vaccines were already tested and proven safe and effective, USA Today reported.
