The off-season for the Dallas Cowboys has been incredibly intriguing. The Cowboys’ choice of trading for former top overall selection Trey Lance has received much attention. Many have questioned Dak Prescott’s future in Dallas after that news. Does the Cowboys have a long-term strategy without the veteran quarterback in his 30s? One report suggests as much.
If Prescott has another poor year, Stephen A. Smith of First Take predicted that the Cowboys might trade him after the 2023 campaign. Prescott led the NFL with 15 interceptions this past season while playing in only twelve games.
“After the day, everything Jerry Jones is stating, given the dead cap hit—$61.9 million he’s going to have the following year, so you are against releasing him since it’ll kill you,” Smith stated on September 6th. But if he dampens the bed, that suggests you’ll consider trading him.”
