Authorities claim that a 17-year-old teenager was shot and killed by police in Georgia on Saturday after he allegedly killed a police dog and then turned a gun on other officers.
Ford was ordered verbally by police to come out
In a message posted on Facebook, Clayton County police Capt. John Ivey disclosed that just before 2 a.m. This morning, the Jonesboro Police Department requested assistance from the Clayton County Police Department Uniformed Division in looking for three suspects who had escaped on foot from them. Our K-9, police dog was deployed throughout the search.
The Daily Caller reported that while the K-9 team of police dog eventually located and apprehended two of the suspects, Stephon Ford was tracked to a wooded location, according to CNN. Ford was ordered verbally by police to come out, but the suspect refused. Ivey said, “Instead, Ford allegedly opened fire on the officers, hitting the police dog .”
According to Fox 5 Atlanta, the police dog , identified as a K-9 police canine named Waro, was taken to an emergency veterinarian’s office where it passed away from its wounds.

Ford allegedly resisted and pointed his gun at the officers
Hours later, police officers moved in and begged Ford to put down his firearm. According to CNN, Ford allegedly resisted and pointed his gun at the officers, causing them to open fire and resulting in Ford’s death.
According to Fox 5 News, the total situation is sad. They despise it. Bruce Parks, an assistant chief, stated. They never intend for something like this to occur.
According to the outlet, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting the investigation into the shooting, reports from 11Alive.
