Following a widely publicized altercation at a pier in Montgomery, Alabama, this past week, 2 more persons have been accused.

On Saturday, a group of white boaters declined to relocate their ship from a wharf that had been designated for a bridge. An argument broke out among the boaters and a group of largely Black spectators who were protecting the co-captain after one of the boats started fighting with the Black co-captain of the vessel.

Based on CNN reports, witnesses claimed that the ferry’s captain was subjected to racist remarks.

4 of the 5 people charged were among the sailors. After being accused, Mary Todd, 21, handed herself in on Thursday, according to Montgomery Police. Richard Roberts, 48, brought himself up on Tuesday. Allen Todd, 23, and Zacary Shipman, 25, were detained on Wednesday.

Assault in the 3rd degree is a crime against the group.
