Wife of an Air Force officer allegedly attempted to poison coffee her husband

A woman from Arizona is accused of attempting to poison her husband’s coffee in an effort to kill him. According to court documents, Melody Feliciano Johnson’s Air Force husband was suspicious of his wife and would not consume the coffee she had been making for him.

Coffee had excessive amounts of chlorine

CBS News reported that while residing in Germany, the couple, who share a child, were going through a divorce. . The husband, whose name was suppressed from the police report for privacy reasons, noticed that the morning coffee his wife had made for him started tasting bad. He claimed to be the only person who uses the coffee maker, according to the police.

He claimed to have purchased test strips for pool chlorine and checked the water in his coffee as well as his tap water. He discovered that while the faucet water was normal, the coffee had excessive amounts of chlorine.

While they were in Germany, he stopped drinking the coffee but didn’t immediately tell his wife. Instead, he made the decision to install cameras in their new home on Davis Mountain Air Force Base when they relocated to Arizona on June 28.

According to court records, he captured Johnson pouring something into the water reservoir on tape. He reported the incident to the Tuscon Police Department, but no action was taken. As a result, he purchased more cameras and installed one in the laundry room, where the bleach was kept.

Bleach-smelling liquid in the coffee machine

In a report from News 19, a video purportedly captured his wife going from the laundry area to the coffee maker. Her allegedly pouring bleach into a smaller bottle and carrying it over to the coffee machine was captured on another video.

After the husband gathered numerous videos for his police report, Johnson was held at home by police. When police searched the house with a warrant, they discovered a bleach-smelling liquid in the coffee machine. They also discovered a container that had a strong bleach scent.

Johnson is accused with attempting to commit first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and tampering with food, drink, or medication.

According to the documents, a large bail was asked for Johnson last month because she may be a flight risk and has a home and family in the Philippines.

According to AZ Family, she entered a not guilty plea during her arraignment on Friday and her bond was set at $250,000.
