Kai charged of felony riot and misdemeanor

USA Today reported that before being released from a Manhattan police station Friday night, Kai was issued a desk appearance ticket for felony riot and misdemeanor inciting a riot and unlawful assembly.

Kai was seen fleeing the stationhouse with his security and climbing into the back of an SUV, which raced away.

The DAT, as it is colloquially known, did not need Kai to go through the criminal court system and spend the night in Central Booking. Instead, Kai was given a court date to appear in front of a judge to answer the charges.

NYPD police deatined Kai and 64 others

As previously reported, Kai stated on his Twitch account that he would be giving away PlayStation 5 consoles and gift cards in Union Square on Friday at 4 p.m.

Thousands of people flocked to the freebies, causing complete anarchy in the streets, though it’s unclear what caused the mayhem. Rioters threw bottles and rocks, damaged cop cars, ruined food carts and stores, and attacked people, reports AutoSpyders.

An army of NYPD police swiftly responded and spent the next three hours putting a stop to the violence before restoring order. Kai was one of 65 people detained by police.
