The lawsuit, filed under the Adult Survivors Act, claims that Cosby invited Morganne Picard to the set of The Cosby Show in 1987, where he allegedly encouraged her to drink beverages that left her feeling extremely intoxicated on multiple occasions between 1987 and 1990.
Morganne Picard, an aspiring musician, has filed a fresh lawsuit against comedian Bill Cosby, alleging that he drugged and raped her in the late 1980s
According to Morganne Picard’s account, she blacked out and later woke up naked and sore in her vagina in a hotel room after drinking a beverage given by Cosby at his home. The lawsuit further asserts that when Morganne Picard was incapacitated by the unknown intoxicant, Cosby undressed and raped her without her consent.
Morganne Picard accuses these companies of failing to investigate, reprimand, or stop Cosby from sexually abusing women.
Morganne Picard is seeking legal action against Cosby for battery, assault, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, while the other defendants are being sued for negligent hiring and negligence
The Adult Survivors Act provides a one-year window for adult victims to sue alleged abusers over older sexual crimes with the deadline for new claims ending on Thanksgiving 2024. Cosby has faced numerous accusations of sexual assault. He was previously convicted on three counts of aggravated indecent assault in 2018 leading to a 10-year prison sentence. However, his conviction was vacated, and he was released in 2021. Cosby continues to deny all allegations made against him.
