The U.S. Justice Department said that a former Mississippi Prison Guard pleaded guilty to federal court to a charge against her last Thursday in beating a jail inmate in 2019,
Jessica Hill, a former Prison Guard in Mississippi, pleaded guilty to federal court for deprivation of inmate rights by using excessive force when she was a Prison Guard at the Central Correctional Facility in Mississippi.
The indictment said that the Prison Guard beat a jail inmate with pepper spray and punched the jail inmate in the head.

The jail inmate was not counterattacking the Prison Guard and was on the floor in the fetal position while being beaten by the Prison Guard.
The former Prison Guard faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment. The sentencing of the case of the former Prison Guard in Mississippi is on Oct. 25, 2023.
A second Prison Guard was indicted in the case and pleaded guilty earlier this 2023.
