The police found the smuggled people and confiscated pounds of finished marijuana
Last Thursday, dozens of smuggled people were discovered living and working in terrible conditions at an illegal marijuana plant in Central Valley, California.
Police served a search warrant last Wednesday at a site near Merced and discovered the smuggled people and the illegal marijuana operation. The police posted a photo on social media showing trays, bags, and boxes of alleged marijuana.
Police found 60 smuggled people working in the marijuana operation, including men and women who were presented with various indefinite resources, plus one minor that was later released to his parent.
The smuggled people were indentured, and they were indebted and scared to death
Police investigators learned that these smuggled people arrived at the property days before with the promise that the smuggled people would have good-paying work and a nice place to stay.
Once there, the smuggled people were forced to process marijuana while living in terrible conditions to pay back the people that brought them. The police we’re going to take care of the smuggled people.
Police didn’t disclose the countries of origin of the smuggled people. No arrests were made, but police worked tirelessly to find the responsible people.
