The car crash occurred on Sunday at approximately 3:51 a.m. on State Highway 35, as reported by KRIS 6 News.

Prior to the accident, the woman, accompanied by another adult and three children, was riding in a truck on the highway, according to the Refugio County Sheriff’s Office. Suddenly, an alligator unexpectedly crossed the path of the truck, leading to a car crash that caused the vehicle to roll over.
Emergency response teams swiftly arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance to the passengers. Tragically, both the woman and her unborn baby succumbed to their injuries, and the alligator also perished in the car crash.
All individuals involved in the car crash were transported to the hospital, with the other adult and two children reported to be in stable condition.

Despite the reduced number of passenger vehicles on the road due to the pandemic, collision rates, and fatalities have surged.
Sadly, Texas has not experienced a single day without a traffic-related death since November 7, 2000, as reported by the Borger News-Herald. Statistics from the Texas Department of Transportation reveal that car crash accident takes place every minute and seven seconds, resulting in a fatality every two hours and 15 minutes, along with an injury occurring every two minutes and 34 seconds.
