Upon receiving a report of a shooting in Germantown at 1:34 a.m., the Philadelphia Police Department promptly responded to the scene. They found the brave Pennsylvania woman standing near one of the injured suspects, who was lying on the ground along Germantown Avenue.
Providing details of the encounter, the Pennsylvania woman explained to the police that a confrontation had ensued after she discovered the intruders in her apartment. Determined to defend herself, the Pennsylvania woman fired at the offenders, causing them to flee from the location.
One of the suspects, identified as 48-year-old Jermaine Parker, suffered gunshot wounds to his right leg and right arm. Medical professionals treated him at the scene before transporting him to Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia. The second suspect, 45-year-old Randy Miller, was found by officers on a nearby street. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the back and was also taken to Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, where he remains in critical but stable condition.
Both individuals have been charged with burglary, as the Pennsylvania woman’s actions were motivated by her desire to protect herself during the commission of criminal trespass and burglary
The Philadelphia Police Department is currently investigating the incident and has not released any further information about the other two suspects involved.
